IN THIS TOUR I WILL TAKE YOU THROUGH A GREAT SELECTION OF THE MOST RELEVANT PIECES THAT INTEGRATE THE MUSEUM COLLECTION.

We will visit 6 archaeological rooms of the Museum to appreciate a selection of the most relevant works produced by various civilizations representative of main historical periods of the Mesoamerican world.

This tour starts with the Olmeca culture, considered as the mother culture of Mesoamerica, followed by the civilization of Cuicuilco, corresponding to the Preclassic period in the Valley of Mexico. Afterward we visit the rooms of the great civilizations of Teotihuacan and Tula and then those of the Aztec empire and the Maya world.

During this guided visit we will address various cultural topics such as social and political organization, economy, religion and cosmovision, funeral rites, calendars, writing and numbering. We will also talk about the linkages that existed between the different cultures and the hypothesis regarding the collapse of the civilizations.
