My name is Maricela Muñoz, I was born and raised in Mexico City and was always fascinated with cultural diversity, especially the more unusual people and cultures unlike my own. Eventually, I developed a desire to fly away and explore the world and all its colorful diversity.
For over ten years I lived abroad, traveling extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa, creating experiences that, through my academic training, helped me recognize the subtleties and unique traces of my own culture. When I returned, I was determined to showcase Mexico’s unique culture and history.
I have always been passionate about Anthropology, Ethnology, Archaeology and Art History, and in 2006 I got certified as a Professional Cultural Heritage Travel Guide. Since then, I have conducted tours for individuals, families and groups from around the world, for cultural institutions, embassies, travel agencies, hotels, multinational companies, study groups, among others.
Leading cultural experiences is an activity that combines my greatest passions: meeting people from different nationalities and backgrounds, interacting in their languages, and sharing with them my favorite cultural content. I also have extensive experience as a lecturer for cultural institutions and expatriate associations.
The Museum features 23 exhibition rooms in a space of nearly 20 hectares and does not have audioguides available. Because of that, it is difficult to visit on your own. It will be my pleasure to enhance your visit through one of my professional and engaging private tours; we will follow a precise itinerary based on your specific interests to appreciate and understand the most outstanding pieces from the collection in their historic and cultural context, applying a multi-disciplinary approach.
